TENS of thousands of lives are lost every year to cancer in the UK, despite ongoing efforts to diagnose and treat it. Although cancer can strike anyone at any moment, specific lifestyle decisions have been shown to influence the risk. A recent study published in the journal Gut has linked a hugely popular beverage to a "doubling" risk of bowel cancer.
